I’ve started to combine my meal plans and shopping trips so you can see how things are going together and to keep myself organized as well. Here are this week’s meals and deals!
This Week’s Meals:
I must be crazy or hungry, because there are a LOT of recipes on this week’s plan, particularly new recipes to try. I’m not sure I’ll get to them all, which is ok. If I can’t, then sometimes I roll them over to the next week. We do have certain meals we love to eat over and over again, so those are fairly easy and familiar. I try to plan those kind during the work week and try new main dish recipes on the weekend. Dinner time is already crazy enough!
This week, I’ll try a few new snack and smoothie recipes for work. The smoothies really help cut down on my Dairy Queen cravings, which are really bad! I do a lot of green smoothies, and they really do keep your energy up. I am in love with that Mint Cacao Kiss Smoothie. I have tons of fresh mint growing everywhere, all different varieties, so this is a great one to use up all that minty goodness.
Speaking of which, I never got a chance to do the Chocolate Mint Brownie Overnight Oats from Organize Yourself Skinny last week, so I put them on the calendar. Everything I’ve made from Tammy’s website has been pretty good. Her organizing and meal planning ideas are wonderful too.
I also have a love affair going with Ali’s website, Inspiralized. I have her Inspiralizer and it’s very well designed. I love it, and I love the recipes on her blog! I have her cookbook too, and it’s fantastic.
I also have a few meals planned for new articles and pictures. Anything that’s listed as “coming soon” below are on the docket. I work full time and have small kids, so it sometimes takes me a while to get things posted. It’s all a work in progress. But then again, so is life.
PS. I’m now an affiliate for PlanToEat.com, which is what I make my meal plans with. Love it! Give it a try! They have a free 30 day trial. Add FrugalMoms2 as a friend!

This Week’s Deals:
Not a huge amount of deals this week, but I didn’t do badly. Berries and peaches were on sale. I’m growing berries but mine aren’t ready yet due to a variety of reasons, including the endless rain here that’s delaying our garden redo, which is delaying our berry harvest because we had to move them. We do have mulberries everywhere. The raspberries and gooseberries should be ready in a couple of weeks. Some day, we’ll have a lot more fruit, but the waiting is torture.
I also managed to find milk marked down to $2 a gallon at Kroger and huge 8 oz tins of sardines in tomato sauce for .69 at Aldi. These are pretty good, so I stocked up. There was also a lot of gluten free stuff on clearance. I grabbed some gluten free flour so I can try making a gluten free version of my pizza. I’ll post the results!
I also stocked up on odds and ends. A few goodies snuck in there too. Sangria sounded good, and so did hazelnut spread.
Hey, I may be frugal, but I do like my wine and chocolate!
